At the agreed time, Amboro Tours will pick you up in advance to begin the city tour Santa Cruz, which lasts approximately 4 hours.

We will take you in a vehicle through some of the main avenues of the city, passing through areas of great natural and economic significance.

During this city tour Santa Cruz , you will see green areas located in the middle of some avenues, where large native trees over 50 years old stand, such as Mahogany, Tajibos, Flamboyants, and Toborochis. These trees were planted in the center of what is known as the “First Ring” thanks to the initiative of Professor Noel Kempff Mercado, a great conservationist and promoter of the creation of one of the largest and most important national parks in South America, which today bears his name.

Your guide will also provide insight into the founding of Santa Cruz on February 26, 1561, by Ñuflo de Chávez and its subsequent relocations to its current location. Santa Cruz was founded for the same reasons as the Jesuit reductionsto establish Spanish colonial presence in the region, along with other economic interests of Spain at the time.

In addition to exploring the city’s avenues, we will visit some notable neighborhoods that are part of this city tour  Santa Cruz.

In the final part of the tour, we will visit a municipal natural reserve, which represents the flora and fauna of the region. Here, you will have the opportunity to take a short walk in hopes of spotting some birds or wildlife. Some of the animals you might see include sloths, monkeys, and others. However, wildlife sightings are not guaranteed.

Village

Private jungle

This private forest  has also  a small  hostel at hopefully the hostel and the eco-tourism will be enough to  enlarge this precious piece of land.

If you love the nature, like to get up to the singing of birds, to the sounds of a subtropical rainforest, and breath its fresh air? Then you are right here.

This private forest known as  Bosque de José is situated near Buena Vista village, a 2 hours drive from Santa Cruz

Here you will find a cosy little guesthouse with four bedrooms in the middle of a subtropical rainforest. You can discover the the whole variety of nature right in front of your main door. The sounds of the forest will accompany you while eating, taking a rest in the hammock outside and even in your dreams.

Although 17° South at 400m above sea-level the climate is nice and mild. You can enjoy Sepp’s expert guiding or stroll around yourself on the little footpaths throughout the forest to discover things. Or just sit on the veranda, soak up the forest atmosphere and listen to frogs and cicadas. Butterflies, bats and birds can be just as easily watched as arbillas(kind if squirrels) and different species of monkeys that often come right up to the front door. If you are patient enough you might be lucky to see a sloth, wild pigs and deer, or a wild cat. You can find many orchids and other colourful flowers.

While walking around this private  forest you’ll also discover many exotic cultivated plants spread between the forest vegetation. So you can enjoy at José’ s house self-picked bananas, sun-ripened mangos, ginger, curcuma and cocoa, as well as self- harvested and home-roasted coffee –

The guesthouse at this private forest is a good place to start tours in the surroundings like to the nearby Amboró National Park, which is only 30km away. Also Sepp can give advise to you for your further travelling in Bolivia such as safety, local habiitat.
